The Cenla Area Agency on Aging is your local information station. Our purpose is to increase awareness of community programs, both public and private, that assist in improving health, independence and quality of life to the elderly, and adults living with physical disabilities.

The SHIIP has Docked in Cenla!

Cenla Area Agency on Aging has a staff of certified SHIIP (Senior Health Insurance Information Program) counselors available to service the needs of Central Louisiana.

SHIIP volunteer counselors provide counseling, free of charge, on a variety of topics regarding health insurance, including: Supplemental and Long Term Care Insurance Policy Comparisons, Assistance with Claims, Medicare-contracted Health Maintenance Organizations, Medicare Supplement (Medigap) Insurance, and the Medicare Appeals Process.

SHIIP Counselors offer advisory information only and do not make decisions for clients. All information shared with a counselor is kept strictly confidential. The counselor will at no time attempt to sell the client anything. Information is given to clients to assist them in making informed decisions. SHIIP counselors never charge for this service. Please call CAAA if you need assistance with your medical insurance.

Linking Adults & Seniors
to Pharmaceutical Aid

Louisiana SenioRx is a program designed to assist low-income, uninsured seniors and disabled adults (21 years and older) to receive free or nearly free medications through pharmaceutical patient assistance programs. Our staff completes applications and provides the necessary documentation to the pharmaceutical companies for you. After the drug company has reviewed and approved your application, your medications are shipped to you or to your doctor's office. There is no charge for SenioRx assistance.
